Us with the Anderssons after our DA on Tuesday. Our investigator came- so great!

Sisar Kokkonen and I went over to Pyynikki to visit a less active and on the way out we noticed it was raining, very hard.  We had missed our bus that only comes once an hour. Hahaha, so we walked home (over a big hill) in the pouring rain. It was like a 35 minute walk and by the time we got home we were completely drenched all the way to the skin.

Meet the parents

Jody and Rhonda Carter, Ruth Ann and Joke Kokkonen in Morgan, Utah
Sisar Carter and Sisar Kokkonen in Tampere, Finland
It's such a small world! Sisar Carter and Sisar Kokkonen discovered that our families have mutual friends, Robert and Angé Workman. The Workmans and the Kokkonens lived by each other in the Alpine Area years ago. Throughout the years they have remained friends and when the Kokkonens visited the Workmans at Tifie Ranch in Morgan last week they stopped by our house so we could meet. We enjoyed talking with them and getting to know them and we look forward to meeting Andrea Kokkonen in person when she and Jess are home from their missions. Joke was born in Finland, and he went to BYU on a track scholarship. He was baptized as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints a couple of years later and fell in love with Ruth Ann. Andrea Kokkonen is the second of their children to serve a mission in Finland. What a blessing it was to meet the Kokkonens!

Mother's Day

Skypeing with Sisar Carter on Mother's Day
"I had a 10 minute talk in sacrament meeting! Talk about fun! It took me like all my personal study time last week and 3 extra hours on Saturday night to Finnish it (ha, get it). But i did it! And I delivered my talk! It was on the light of Christ and how simple things can be doing missionary work. I also talked about you for a bit momma, cause it was Mother’s Day after all. Now everyone here knows how awesome you are too!"
